          A trip to Foster's Freeze is one of those remnants of my summer days growing up in Michigan which never fails to put a smile on my face as soon as I'm getting into my car.  Night time is my favorite time of all to go for an ice cream, after the hot air of the day has finally cooled enough to be out in, yet you can still barely feel the heat coming off the pavement under your feet; I swear, it's the best of both worlds  

           This particular Foster's Freeze is always busy, and yet there seems to be fewer and fewer establishments like this now a days where someone, with a very particular craving, can purchase a medium-chocolate-soft-ice-cream-dipped-in-chocolate-cone at the end of a hot, 95 degree day.  Which is precisely when one of these soft serve delights is the most gloriously satisfying.  I shudder to think what a future of summers without this crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, cold on my tongue, delicious time machine in my mouth treat would be like should they all (due to forgetfulness) vanish one day.  

           I recommend that at least once a week, when the sun is just about to set completely, that you turn off your television, shut your lap top down, turn the ringer on your cell phone to vibrate mode, call a close friend or gather the loved ones up, and get in your car for a drive to get a soft ice cream, dipped in chocolate.....I promise, you wont regret it.
