    After touring the white house we walked from the Jefferson Memorial to the WWII Memorial, of course I carried my gear with me and this is just one of the results.  This is a part of the path around the National Mall that is currently closed because of the MLK Memorial Construction, we saw a trail in the snow and of course took it due to the fact the alternative was about a 3/4 mile detour.  Glad we did, although a few slips near the edge of the water kinda made me think twice but we continued.  These are cherry trees that have given under the weight of the snow, a few of the branches were broken and I assume will not be there by the spring season.

     

    Visiting the National Mall is something I've done many times over the years, but this was my first visit since the WWII Memorial was built.  To stand inside of this great place and pay your respects to all the men and women who sacrificed so much to save the lives and freedom of so many people, is an experience I hope you all have a chance to do.

    Cherry Blossoms on the Potomac River is full of color from the bright sunshine to the blue river. It measures 24" X 24" X 3/4". I used palette Knife technique to paint the cherry blossom.  There is a lot of texture in the flowers on the trees. The painting will look lovely in any space , any environment . I hope you fall in love with this little painting.
    
    It is painting on gallery-wrapped 100% cotton canvas. The staple-free sides of the canvas are painted with a continuation of the painting - framing is not required. It is protected with two layers of varnish.
