Ovation TV

In 1978 I was shopping in an out door shopping center in Campbell, CA. and I notice this small art store. I met a wonderful man/artist, named Bill Shapiro to my delight he taught art classes two times a week. I took a few classes, and learned how to mix different mediums and some brush techniques. I caught the bug, and another “artist want to be” was born. It was all trail and error, and lots of experimenting after that. When I could find the time I would paint. I married young and had children right away. John Lennon said it best, “Life is what happens while you are making other plans”.

Today I’m currently working on a series of musician oil paintings that I feel have great talent and have contributed to the world of music. I have several works in progress (e.g.: Jimi Hendrix, Django Reinhardt, etc.) I hope to complete them soon.

I’m inspired by a deep passion for art. I appreciate this opportunity to share my artwork, and to experience the art works of other fellow artist.

I currently reside in Paso Robles, CA. I’m inspired every day by the peace and beauty that surrounds me. It doesn’t hurt either, that we are surrounded by lovely wine country.

Artist Statement
Things I'm sure of: Tomorrow will come. Suicide is a permament solution to a temporary problem. The best way to get praise is to die. It is best to remain silent and thought a fool then to speak up and remove all doubt. John Keynes, "In the long run we are all dead." OJ did it.

I would like to meet:
I would like to meet the Dalai Lama. I would like to meet Stephen Hawking. My husband saw him when he was backstage at a Grateful Dead concert at the Frost Amphitheater in Stanford University. I bet he dropped acid in his day. Grateful Dead/Expanded Universe/Unification of Physics. It would be an interesting conversation.

Favorite bands and musicians:
Where to begin. We were the "concert going" generation. Some bands that I've seen in concert: Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Allman Brothers, Eric Clapton, Yes, Santana, Bob Dylan, ZZ Top, U2, R.E.M., Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, Neil Young, CSNY, ACDC, and Robert Plant/Jimmy Page.

Dexter, Californication, True Blood and House

Favorite blogs and websites:
Michael Coen, he is one of my best friends. When my brother was killed in 1982, I was consumed with grief. Michael would tell me true stories of his adventures in SF during the 70s. These wild, crazy and hilarious stories helped me through some really bad times. I encourage him to write a book, which will be published soon. I highly recommend his book called "The Langford."
