William Boyer started painting as a child winning a newspaper art contest at the age of seven.  His acrylic paintings reflect scenes from around his home in Florida and trips to Michigan and the Smoky Mountains with its beautiful streams and rivers. Inspired by his travels throughout the US, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Spain and Brazil, William has taken over 30,000 photographs for references and ideas to paint.

Much of William’s old work is acrylic landscapes on canvas using traditional paint and brushes. The paintings range from miniatures (2 inches by 3 inches) to murals or wall paintings (8 feet by 15 feet).  His abstract acrylic impressionism paintings are a unique method of hand painting, inspired by Salvador Dali’s style of Surrealism  combined Vincent Van Gogh adding the bright colors of Peter Max.

When William was challenged to be unique and original, he stopped using brushes and knives. A series of abstract impressionism paintings were created.  Using only his fingers or simple painting tools, one of a kind paintings emerged. The style showed energy and motion, he called it Abstract Acrylic Impressionism. (Finger Painting)

One four day weekend Mr. Boyer painted more than one hundred abstract impressionism finger paintings. The paintings were drying in every room of his house including the basement and garage. Everything he looked at turned into a painting and all he could think about was painting. The “Abstract Finger Painting or Abstract acrylic Impressionism” style emerged. William calls this weekend experience “The Savant Weekend”.

Mr. Boyer received his Masters degree from Eastern Michigan University and has worked as an Artist, Global Industrial Engineer and an Industrial Art Teacher.

William is a self-taught artist and for the past twelve years has produced at least three painting per week. His William Boyer Purplepaintingpaintings have been sold in the United States and more than ten other countries.
