As the song said," breaking up is hard to do" is so true, but if the relationship no longer works then it is time to say good bye.  I stayed in my first marriage for 22 years with two kids because I continually thought, every year, that it would get better.  As I think about those days I kick myself for staying with my first wife for so many bad years.  My life was crap and I had no one to talk with to get some guidance, or symphathy. My mother and father...forget it. Several friends brushed me off. They told me that I was expecting too much from my marriage.  I knew that was BS.  I am happily married now for 24 years.  My marriage is not a story book, but it shouldn't be.  Without this wonderful lady my present life would be crap.  She never complains and when I need to talk to her about some private stuff, she pays attention to me.  I am not an easy kind of guy, but I try to be better and calmer every day.   I thank her for every thing that she does including making dinner.  Good luck to you and don't drag this thing out.  I know many couples who have a bad relationship for years and stay in it.  I can see how unhappy they both are.  Don't that be you.  Happy New Year.  ellis.

Do not be afraid.  Life is in you today and your future is yours to make.  The best security is that which lies within you and your own capabilities.  Anything you may "miss" can be substituted by creating even better.
