Yet again, I am still alive

Well, after tomorrow Dec.13th my school semester will be over. It would have been today but about ten minutes before my drawing final I was projectile vomiting in my car in the school's parking lot. So I am rescheduled to take it tomorrow although my drawing teacher offered to just give me the A without taking the test. I am appreciative of that gesture but that isn't fair to the rest of the class that was there today to take it. If I am just as sickly tomorrow I'll be forced to email him and say I can't make it despite the fact that the testing center is literally 3 minutes from my house unlike the actual campus which is about 40 minutes away.

So with that being said, yes I did take a drawing class for the first time this semester. I haven't taken pictures of any of my work and they are all in the teacher's hands as I had to turn in my final portfolio last week. Hopefully I can get that all back tomorrow and embark on my lovely journey of documenting all of my drawings here to show all of you! I am excited to show everybody here how much I progressed. I would say I was one of the leaders of the pack but by no means the best in the class. The others had had many previous drawing classes under their belts so I am happy to say that I held my own better than I thought I would be able to. Here I come next semester painting, sculpture and figure drawing! My doctors are still not sure if I have rheumatoid arthritis but with that schedule I probably will by the end of next semester.

Unfortunately I haven't gotten a terrible amount of outside work done for my artshow which is slightly sad. No new sculptures even though I did have ideas for some. I just didn't have that kind of time. I am heading out at my earliest chance to Dick Blick to pick up some black pastel paper as I am obsessed with it and it is inexpensive. I knew I liked pastels before this class but have a deep respect and passion for them at this current time. My drawing teacher can tell that I am very driven and he often says that in order to get a grasp of a concept, you need to do it at least 10 times. I am going to attempt to pump out a lot more pastel portraits so I can show him I am serious with my 10 and also show him that somebody listens to him. That is about all I have to say for now. If I get my portfolio back tomorrow, I'll start posting things as soon as I can. Right now I need more pain medication and to take a shower. I have missed all of you guys.
