"What is Truth?" is the fourth chapter to my Portrait of the Passion Collection. The story of the Passion of Christ.
"What is Truth?" is a green monochromatic, using negative spaces to create a feeling of tight spaces and solitude between Pontius Pilate and Jesus Christ. As with the previous chapters, "What is Truth?" was painted with acrylic on canvas. Acrylics were the media of choice for the Portrait of the Passion collection.
Pontius Pilate was the man, best known as the man who authorized the crucifixion of Jesus. But for me it was also represents and recent time in my life where I was held on trial by my peers. I too was innocent and my peers knew I was innocent, but just like Pilate, in order for their own lives to continue in peace, was found guilty. My life destroyed, I found myself full of hopelessness and despair. I used "What is Truth?" as an outlet for self healing as well as taking my feelingsand using them as a tool for my continuing mission to paint the story of Christ's last days on Earth.
