  • You don't get a view like this every day! Thanks for adding the history behind it. That always makes it more enjoyable!

Description:

The bell that rests in the tower of the Raintree County Courthouse. The courthouse was built in 1869 at a cost of $120.000. This courthouse was pictured in Ross Lockridge Jr.'s 1948 book "Raintree County" and the following was written by Mr. Lockridge: "For Raintree County is not the country of the perishable fact. It is the country of the enduring fiction. The clock in the Court House Tower is always fixed at nine o'clock, and it is summer and the days are long."

~Ross Lockridge Jr.
