Paradigm 2
vA summary of the issues my work deals with come from a process of taking life day-by-day and striving towards an ultimate goal of self-preservation and doing the right thing rather than self-mutilation.
vThe contrast of silk and steel juxtaposes the hardness, coldness, and permanence of the steel against the soft, sensual, pureness, and innocence of the silk. These contrasting materials create tension, which represents my internal struggle over the years. ‘Paradigm 2’ is a self-portrait compiled over my years of self-discovery and self-realization.
vMy work is manifested by my participation in society, and the experiences that I have encountered in my life such as responding to addiction. The themes that I address are reflected in the Golden Rule – treat others the way you would like to be treated.
