Working on some new clays in the studio...ordered a new bigger front loading kiln and the pieces don't seem to be getting any smaller...the big head has been fired once since this picture...it got an octopus and dead liberty on top of it....You can see in this photo how I am building it up hollow ...the nose hole allows for compressing the clay in that area and is closed later... I'll be doing two demonstrations during the Phoenix studio tour of building with paperclay...a very forgiving clay...I'll be building hollow four legged creatures...probably horses....though you never know an ostrich might just turn up....cheers
