Join NowArt of the Streets Art Race
Calling all Artists and Art Lovers!
Street Art: usually refers to unsanctioned art; can include traditional graffiti artwork, sculpture, stencil graffiti, sticker art, wheat pasting and street poster art, video projection, art intervention, guerrilla art, and street installations.
The artists in Motor City Rising are launching an artistic revolution to take back Detroit; and many of them are using the streets as their canvas.
During the next three weeks, you’ll be getting a glimpse into the Detroit Street Art scene, but in this Art Race we want to see the street art from your city.
Upload your art to the community and tag it with “StreetArt2012”. All uploads must be tagged to be entered into the contest.
Don’t feel limited in your definition of Street Art.
Your entries can be:
- Photos of your favorite street art
- Images of your own street art
- Your remix of a well known street artpiece
- Etc…
The winner will be featured on the Ovationtv.com homepage and Facebook page. They will also receive a $100 visa gift card.
Good Luck and don’t forget to tune into the premiere Motor City Rising TONIGHT at 10PM PT/ 7 PM ET.

don't understand how a profession al organizati on would create a competitio n that condones and glamorizes criminal activity. As you pointed out, street art usually refers to unsanction ed art which is a "crime." This should not be condoned on this site. If you want to change you wording to commission ed street art then fine....ho wever, you better verify that the winner used art that was sanctioned by the proper athorities . I really don't understand
where this site is going when you have a poetry contest and select a piece of art as the winner and then glorify criminal activity as art. Who is in charge out there? This is rediculous .
