Saturation is not always our enemy, nor is HDR. I've edited the same photo using HDR and heavy sat and then as a regular version and about 50% of the customers prefer the heavy editing. It's probably a fad because the technique is still basically new, but it is the truth.HDR does work on photos with people in them. I've seen some amazing shots of people using HDR. Some of the most fantastic photos I've seen use HDR.
It's definitely better to shoot in RAW...especially if you will be making large photo orints, but I have always shot in Jpeg and have done pretty well. If I am working on a project and want to print large prints...I will try RAW. I print up to 13 x 19 size photos in Jpeg and have not had a problem.
Totally agree about watermarks...when I first started taking photos..I added my name in huge letters......tacky!
Framing, lighting and composition are definitely key elements to a great photograph!I think these are great rules to use, but also think you have to consider what your client wants. If they want sat....or HDR....I give it to them.

g, tell a story, if possible, the sun needs to be at the right spot and there must be balance in the pic. If these elements are not there, I don't take the p[c. That is why I am showing only one pic on this site. Some folks keep showing the same pic over and over. How boring is that. ellis.
